Curren$y and Wale weren't even finished recording their current single "What It Look Like" before they decided to shoot a video for the song.

"While we were doin' the record, [Wale] was like, 'We gotta shoot a video.' I was like, 'I know,' " Curren$y told MTV News.

In the video, which was shot in an Atlanta airport, Spitta and Wale trade verses in an airplane hangar while a full band backs them up. The duo released the song, which will appear on Curren$y upcoming Warner Bros. release The Stoned Immaculate, last week, and on Sunday, they premiered the video on MTV2's "Sucker Free" countdown.

In 2008, the two MCs appeared on the cover of XXL's annual Freshman issue and have collaborated quite a bit in the past, most notably on Wale's 2009 mixtape track "Wordplay" and Maybach Music's "Rise" last year. The two are more than collaborators, though; they're also friends. In fact, that's the way Curren$y prefers it. He tends to stay away from working with people he doesn't know.

"That's the only people I would work with," he said. "Anything I do would never be a reach-out."

The Jet Life spitter remembers coincidently being in the same studio with Wale — that's how "What It Look Like" came about. "We were working in the same studio and he came in there like, 'I think I got a hook,' " Curren$y said of Wale.

While on the set of the video, Wale told MTV News that the song's lyrics came so naturally to him, he didn't even have to write them down. Instead, he went into the vocal booth and constructed his verse without pen or paper. "This is actually a special record for me. This is the first time I went into the booth without writing a verse," the Maybach Music standout said. "I'm glad we got to do a dope visual to it."
