Maintaining your sanity and health on the road is possible with ?some thought.
We all travel (whether its to work, a business trip or a family vacation), and eating healthy on the road may be a challenge for all.? I am actually writing this entry from 39,000 feet above ground coming home from a business trip.?? I was also faced with how do I eat well and feel well on the road, especially at an altitude my body was not used to.

Here are some basic real use tips to stay healthy on the road
- Bring your own food on the plane and drink plenty of water.? This will allow you to avoid all the processed munchies you will reach for inflight.? The water keeps you hydrated and craving less food.
- Be aware of any food sensitivities you may have and also pay attention to your energy levels after meals.
- If you are located near a Whole Foods, consider spending an hour to stock your room with healthy breakfast items, snacks, large artesian water bottles and coconut water.
- Continue to exercise while you are away.? Take the opportunity to try some local classes, bike or get outside and explore.
- Bring a ?packable? workout with you.? I travel with the TRX Suspension bands. ?They fold up in a small mesh bag and can be used in your room or in the hotel gym. It?s a great workout that takes up a small amount of space.
- If time zones are involved, get yourself on their time as quickly as possible, even if that means adjusting your schedule from home before you leave.
- Stick to the healthiest versions of alcoholic drinks as possible. Click here to read How to Drink and Stay Healthy:?http://coreandmorehealthandfitness.com/the-best-and-worst-way-to-drink-alcohol-and-how-your-choices-will-affect-your-weight/
- When eating out, feel free to change the side dishes.? Use the opportunity of having to eat out in restaurants to have chefs from around the world cook for you. Try foods you may not make yourself.? It?s also a great feeling to eat local foods native to where you are.
- Travel with a compact blender such as a Cuisinart compact or a magic bullet. This will allow you to make smoothies or shakes in your room.? I fund that the bartenders are happy to rinse it out for you each day.
- Bring plenty of water on board and buy bottles to keep in your room. ?Its cheaper than buying it at the hotel and tourist spots
- Stay away from ?smelly? foods on the plane such as tuna fish or greasy fried food. ?The smell will eventually make you sick and you risk the chance of having to use the bathroom more than you planned on.

Some foods to keep in your room while you are away
- Cleaned cut up fruit, especially berries (organic if possible)
- Water bottles and Celtic Sea Salt
- Almond milk for Rockin? Wellness smoothies & a bag of Rockin? Wellness
- Raw cheese and crackers such as nut thins
- Guacamole and cut up veggies (or tortilla chips)
- Nuts such as pecans, walnuts and cashews
- A bottle of almond butter
- Apples and/or Bananas
- I also bought wild smoked salmon (nitrate free) and brought Gluten free wraps with me
- Kind Bars, Uber nut bars, Warrior bars or something else (gluten-free preferred) you can eat in a pinch
